Silicon Sea Leg 58 answers:

1. 2.9 kt and 031 deg made good during the night. Seems a rather
small distance made good (47 mi). Hope I didn't make a mistake.

2. Mar 29 1800 ZT DR = 4940 S 6450 W.

3. The fathometer should be able to keep us inside the 200-fathom
line.

4. 033 deg true and 1920 mi to Rio de Janerio.

5. Compass course, allowing for variation, deviation, and current (1
deg right correction) = 025 deg.

6. ETA = Apr 6 0400 Z.

7. Rio is 3 hours behind Greenwich time, thus local ETA = Apr 6 0100.

Problems worked with plotting sheets and E-6B analog computer. It's
unreasonable to use a plotting sheet for the run to Rio, but I want to
see how close it comes. Used a mid-latitude of 36 S for that sheet.
