When I teach celestial navigation, I ask that a few problems be solved using
Ageton

?s method.
I?ve found that it is easier to set up the problems using a scientific
calculator.
Ageton?s A column is Log10( 1 / sin(x) ). The B column is Log10( 1 / cos(x) )
.
Here, x is the angle in decimal degrees.

Using a TI calculator to compute A:
key in the angle, press sin, press 1/x, press LOG
The result is a number less than 1.0. The digits following the decimal point
are listed in the table.
To convert a table value to an angle:
key in a decimal point followed by the five digit number, press 10x, press
   1/x, press sin-1

I hope this is useful.
