I am not sure exactly what you are asking for. Any book on
navigation will describe means for determining Lat and Lon.
How you calculate it depends on the data you are starting
with.
The definition of Latitude is the angle north or south of
the equator, reaching 90 degrees at the poles.
Longitude is the angle east or west of the meridian through
Greenwich, the "prime" meridian. It reaches 180 degrees
East or West in the Pacific.
