Yes. See January. Or... go through any of my posts in the past nine months
referencing "dip" and/or "Chicago buildings" in the subject.
The calculation of anomalous dip is directly connected with terrestrial
refraction which, to first order, is a simple function of the atmospheric lapse
rate. It's fun stuff, and I would be happy to chat about it at some length
(you can express everything in terms of a variable radius for the Earth!), but
unfortunately I am very busy this weekend. Strike that... make it "FORTUNATELY
