I am at a loss. I've started working through some of the questions on the
Coast Guard license exam, navigation section. The following question is
giving me fits, as math and graphic solutions are very close but match none
of the answers. I cannot find my error(s).

    10700. Block Island Sound

    At 1020 your position is LAT 41s 11.0' N, LONG 71d 50.0 W. You are on
course 056d per standard magnetic compass at 9.2 knots. At 1112 your
position is LAT 41d 15.9 N, LONG 71d 41.7 W. What were the set and drift?

    Variation 15 W
    Deviation 4 E
"Per standard magnetic compass" (psc) is defined as, "Your compass heading
after you apply TVMDC to the true course."

    In this case true would be compass C 056(psc) + D 4E - V 15W (W)= 045T
    CDMVT (add east) Yes?

    I came up with true course steered of 045d 00.0', COG 51d 52' 16.3" T
    Set 136 d and drift .95 kn.

"Correct" answer is 141d T at 1.2 knots.

I cannot find my blunder. Any help would be appreciated.

    Bill
