    | At about 12:45AM Central Time Tuesday (23 hours ago), a message was sent to
    | Navigation-L with the subject "compute suns position" and this starting
    | sentence:
    | "Without much experience with a sextant but an interest in the
    | mathematics..."
    |
    | I received this message in my e-mail inbox shortly after it was sent. Just
    | so we're all clear on this, the message was sent to Navigation-L, not NavList.
    |
    | This message presently does not appear in the list archive for Navigation-L,
    | and I haven't seen any replies to it from the list either. It's the sort of
    | message that would ordinarily generate a fair bit of traffic. This, to me,
    | strongly suggests that there is a continuing problem with distribution of
    | messages to Navigation-L. How many of you received this message late last night?
    | How many did not receive it?
    ====================================

Frank is right about this; there are serious problems of message distribution in Nav-l or in its Webkahuna host.

The message Frank refers to hasn't got to me, yet, but (on present performance) it might, within the next day or so..

Nor did a message enthreaded "compass card with more than 360 degrees". That has got to Lu Abel, because I can read his reply, but
    not (yet) to me.

There's something seriously amiss, but Dan seems reluctant to accept that, and prefers to blame list members and their ISPs. It
    calls for
    some investigation.

    George.
