Gentlemen,
I have been lurking for a month or so and have found the discussions well
worth reading. Thank you for maintaining a stimulating discussion. Here is
my two cents on this topic.
Of course we know that eye damage is an occupational risk for navigators.
Many developed blind spots in their right eyes over time due to sun gazing.
Perhaps someone knows of a device that does not require looking at the sun?
A variation of the back staff?
It seems to me that rewriting the article substituting a sextant with a
back staff (wink - wink) would get the information out and slip under the
"safety police's" RADAR. Especially if directions on how to build your own
back staff were included.
Just a thought.
