This was not so.
Our itinerary was Dublin-Scilly Islands-Isle of White-Helgoland.
So the course was first S
Then E, and
then mostly NE. (So the "general course" was E; except the
first 2 days. Kiel is in the East
of Dublin).
The wind blew more or less from N most of the time.
