I have an SNO-T (which may be or may not to be
super-quality). The drum is divided into whole minutes,
    and has no vernier (nonius).
I have no difficulty in reading it to 0.1' precision.
When I compared it with Bills Astra 3 (which has a nonius
divided to 0.2') I did not find Astra easier to read.
My impression is that reading the drum without nonius
is quicker and more convenient than the one with a nonius.

    This might answer your question.

P.S. Unlike all other modern sextants, SNO-T
has a magnifying glass helping to read the drum.
    But no nonius.
