I can't recall if this has been announced on the list before, but list members
in the Washington, D.C., area or those planning to visit Washington might be
interested in the news that a new exhibit at the National Museum of American
History entitled "Finding Time and Place: From Chronometers to GPS" is
scheduled to open in late 2005. For a sneak peek, see
<http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/cgsic/meetings/summaryrpts/44thmeeting/67 Nat Hist
Mus44.ppt>, a 15.6 MB PowerPoint file. Hopefully, I got that URL correct.
Note the spaces in the last part of the URL: "67 Nat Hist Mus44.ppt".
