Hey Mike, for more accurate results you might be better off getting as high
as you can, despite not knowing exactly your elevation. You're right, the
issues involved have been extensively discussed here fairly regularly. Take
a cruise through the archives.

2.Dip at beach: This issue may have been batted around the List before but
is there a prescribed method of determining height of eye for dip correction
at beach? I would venture a guess if elevation is known at that precise spot
that would be one way but I try to get as close as possible to water in
order to minimize eye height.
