I would like to ask Professor Eremenko whether he teaches the
undergraduate and graduate students at Perdue University, that is, the
future engineers, scientists and the future statistics teachers that the
average of the average of two data sets equals, in general, the average
of the union set of the two data sets?
This is, to wit, in simplified form, the question which is at the basis
of my most important objection to the method of averaging individual
"runs" of sights. I have asked Professor Eremenko several times to
address the problem, the last time on Nov 3. However, he chooses to
ignore it, restate his position and "convince" readers with a list of his
credentials.
