For anyone else interested in the methods in Norie, the edition available
    online is very nearly identical:

It's from twenty years earlier (during the heyday of lunars). The only change
in the lunars methods from 1828 to 1848 was the replacement of Dunthorne's
method by Krafft's (a method of natural versed sines) which became popular later
    than it should have.

A far back as 1796, Mendoza Rios himself expressed his fondness for a method
in natural versines and lamented the fact that tables of versed sines were not
widely available. As late as 1908, Dunraven recommends only one method for
clearing lunars, a method in natural versines of which, compared to other
clearing methods, he says "appears to me the simplest of them all, and the easiest
to remember". He cautions that it is not "advocated generally", but I think
    that's just his style.
