Thanks to Henry Halboth and to Bruce Stark for helpful replies.

I don't blame Henry (or University libraries either) for being reluctant to
subject their precious rare volumes to being opened flat on the bed of a
scanner. Indeed, it's about time a scanner was developed which could be
insrted into the cleavage between two pages, scanning right into the
corner, so that the spine doesn't need to be opened more than 90 degrees.

So instead I will ask Henry to extract some relevant values from table
XXXV, as he Kindly offered, to provide values for the 3rd and 4th
    corrections..

    20 July 1816, App.dist. 57deg 54' 41", Moon's corr. 41' 36", 1st corr. 22' 21"

    31 July 1820, App. dist 93deg 40' 26", Moon's corr 50' 39", 1st corr 49' 10"

    24 July 1821, App.dist. 58deg 11' 56", Moon's corr 48' 22", 1st corr 27' 51"

    1 Aug 1823, App dist. 69deg 57' 54", Moon's corr 50' 45", 1st corr 23' 24"

    2 Aug 1823, App. dist. 55deg 15'39", Moon's corr. 52'51", 1st corr 29'45"

Have I provided enough information there, to enable him to find the third
    and fourth corrections?

But if any member happens to have access to that 1839 (or earlier) Norie's
with a table XXXV of 3 pages extending to 120 deg, and an easy-going
librarian who will allow copying, then I would be most grateful for a copy
    of that table.

    George.
