Doug Royer made a statement in a recent message which deserves a BRIEF public
comment (the rest does not, i my opinion). He wrote:
"The thread was interesting but turned banal and tedious."
Looking at the message archives last night, this month, December of 2003,
will be the biggest month ever for Nav-L by total number of messages. It looks
likely to hit 300 messages for the month. That's ten a day which is enough to
guarantee that some threads will be of interest to some members and
uninteresting to others. So what should you do? Complain about the threads you personally
find uninteresting?? If they're off-topic (not navigation-related in any way),
then maybe. But there is a simpler solution... God gave us subject lines in
e-mail for a reason. If you find a topic uninteresting to you personally, don't
read it! It's no more complicated then changing the channel when you don't
like what you're watching on television. And IF message volume stays high, it's
something that everyone on this list will need to learn.
If it doesn't interest you, don't read it.
