I'd certainly be interested in whatever George finds out about Lewis and
Clark's navigation. Off and on, for some years, I've been working their equal
altitudes, lunars, and altitude-azimuths for magnetic variation. It's fun and easy
some times. Other times it's baffling. I wore out my patience earlier this
year trying to figure out what was going on with their chronometer during the
Great Falls portage. A new insight from George might be rejuvenating.

Richard — Schedule plenty of time for the Forest Service's Lewis and Clark
center in Great Falls. Also, the national headquarters of the Lewis and Clark
Trail Heritage Foundation is in Great Falls. Besides good people, they have a
    good library.

    Bruce
