    I excuse myself for my mistake, especially to George Huxtable. Yes, I referred to the passage from Arthur Ransome's Winter Holiday cited by Bill Noyce, but I remembered it erroneously - in fact, the saucepan was mentioned there, but only as an alternative to the common Plough, therefore fully confirming George's statement about the British name for Ursa Maior, not questioning it. Bill is fully right.

    As an apology, I must say that I didn't manage to verify my reference in the book, when writing E-mail, because the book (and all other Ransome's titles) were confiscated in my bookcase by my niece three years ago - forever.
