Dan, I think the idea of a FAQ is excellent...saves sifting through the
archives to find things. As a novice to celnav and relative newcomer to the
group the sort of questions that I have addressed have been pretty basic and
of a practical nature. Over the last two years I have asked some of the
following questions and/or followed/researched answers to them:

What are some good books on celestial navigation?

What are some good web resources on celestial navigation?

What calculators/PDA's are useful for celnav, and what software is available
    for them?

What are some good web/PDA resources for star identification, and provision
    of star ephemeredes?

What are the main methods of sight reduction currently in use, and
    supported by readily available tables?

If something like these questions should make it into your final list, and
you are short of authors, I would be happy to make a first pass at an
answer. Though I must confess I would like someone else to tackle the last
question, as I am not too far down that path yet.
