The certificate to my 1974 Heath Hezzanith states: "The following
corrections, in addition to Index correction should be applied to the
readings of the arc" .... i.e. the (few) numbers shown ( maximum of +0.2')
are corrections, not errors.

My 1988 Russian SNO-T has no certificate of error/corrections....as best I
can interpret the (Russian) instructions, the implication is that the
instrument has been manufactured to a standard where there are no instrument
errors of practical significance, and that Index errors should be corrected
for in the usual way. I have often wondered whether this is true!!
