Well, it's news to me that there's much of a connection between the
procedure I have outlined and Borda's method or Young's, except for the
fact that they are all intended to resolve a similar problem. That is why
no explicit reference was made to them. Nor is there much in common between
Borda's method and Young's method, as I see it. The manipulations involved
appear to be completely different in the three cases. Perhaps Fred will
explain this point further.
