Yes these sight reduction programs cover several different platforms PC,
Palm and Pocket PC.
You are right that the Nobeltec and Nautical Technologies offerings are
basically GPS chart programs. However they both include a celestial module
for reducing sights.
Basically I am interested in getting the benefit of everyone's experience
with these products to work out my own road map. I agree that having a
laptop on board is neither convenient nor safe (for the laptop).
