I have used pocket stars....I find it excellent for sight reduction and
the starfinder/skymap feature is nice also. Price is great (low) and
the ability to download and play with a demo version is a tremendous
selling feature. Note there are multiple versions of the almanac
available to download depending on digital memory available. You need
to have a Windows CE pocket PC for it to work but if that cost is
already sunk (you own one) this is the way to go

Subject: Non-traditional Sight Reduction
More and more navigators are still using their sextants but using
software
for sight reduction.
I am interested in user experience with the following software:
- AstroNavPC (NavPac)
- Navigator
- StarPilot
- Celestnav PDA
- Pocket Stars
- The Cap'n
- Nobeltec Admiral and Navigation Suite
I would appreciate comments on user friendliness and features (included
or
missing)
Thanks
