That footnote has already been noted. I quoted it in the message that
kicked off this thread. But as you've discovered, it's embarrassingly
easy to forget what the footnote says!

I suggest 17 Nov 2002 instead, so there will never be any doubt about
which number is the year.

To my eye, spaces make more pleasing separators than slashes.
