The 1966 Bowditch was one volume. It had a very few corrections to the
1962 edition.

To my knowledge there were no editions or printings from 1966 until
1977.

The 1977/1981/1984 editions were in two volumes, done with a twist.
1977 and 1984 were different editions of volume 1, while 1981 was
volume 2. So in other words, they did volume 1, then volume 2, and by
then they redid volume 1 again.

To my knowledge there were no other editions or printings from 1984
until the 1995 edition.

The 1995 edition was back to one volume. The crime about this edition
is that they threw out a lot of the material from the earlier editions
-- especially historical information -- but went to a huge size with
large print and lots of white space. It has little to recommend it
other than you can download it for free from the Internet!

I wish they would go back to the smaller size of the early editions
circa 1802-1888. They were a nice size. They also gave the appearance
of packing in a lot more information. They felt like a Bible rather
than a coffee table book.
