Welcome to Nav-L, Bernard. Hope you have many more contributions to make.

HOWEVER, you should be aware that Nav-L is devoted to NON-ELECTRONIC
methods of navigation. Though mention of the GPS alternative is by no means
forbidden where it's relevant, and many list members (I bet) navigate their
boats that way in practice, what you have just said is rather akin to
farting in church.
