Arthur-
Worked your sun lunar and got 18:53:48.
I don't graph, but averaging all the times and measurements, and allowing for
the rate of change, suggested the time and distance you chose was about
right. So I used your figures. But you wrote the moon's altitude down wrong
in your e-mail. I got 30° 41.'7 for the moon's calculated altitude, and 29°
53.'2 for her apparent central altitude.
Other values I got that were different:
Moon's refraction and parallax: 48.'43
Sun's refraction and parallax: 1.'00
Moon's augmented semidiameter: 15.'88
Apparent distance: 99° 4.'2 (only 0.'1 different than what you got)
Cleared distance: 98° 23.'7
GMT: 18:53:48 (three minutes, 48 seconds more than your GPS)
You measured it too long, and I'm not surprised, given the length of the
distance.
