 I suppose that technically, a digital watch rolling over from 11:59:59 PM across midnight to 12:00:01AM should simply show 12:00:00 for that one single second. Showing neither an AM nor PM when 12:00:00 is displayed.
 Of course since the very act of displaying 12:00:00 really means it will probably be 12:00:00+ before we notice, then the 12:... probably should *begin* the next cycle, so that 12:00:00 midnight probably should be displayed as 12:00:00AM since there is an AM cycle beginning.
 You could argue either way, but the correct display is really to show neither AM nor PM for that split second at the meridiens. Doubtlessly Casio really couldn't give a damn and isn't about to reprogram the logic in all their chipsets in order to meet the American concept of French timekeeping standards. They build disposable watches for the masses, and the mass market neither knows nor cares about these details.
