John & all-
 Perhaps we should agree not to use the word "HEADING" in this forum.
While Chapman defines it as the direction that the bow of the boat is pointing in, conventional dictionaries define it as the direction the boat is MOVING TOWARDS.
 Note that there are two equally valid but totally different definitions, making this word useless without a specific context.

 If we are "heading" towards disaster that does not mean we (or our bows<G>) are pointed at it, that means we are moving towards it.
