Dear Nigel,
Thank you for your kind offer. I envy you your library. I have Norie's
navigation of 1889, but without the volume of tables that went with it.
I won't take up your offer for the moment, but will keep it in mind. I was
thinking more about more contemporary volumes, which readers of the list
might possess. Bill Murdoch has kindly offered to send me chapters from
Letcher.
Presumably Jeans 1876 would be James Jeans, in his younger days. That does
sound interesting.
