Harking back to days before all this electronic jazz. quartz watches, lap
tops and goodness knows what we did not bother in the calculations about
working out Z in 360 but just got the figure out and then expressed it in
terms of the elevated pole and whether the body was East or West of you
then say Zn was 234 and you were in the northern hemisphere and the body
was just setting then the calcs would have given a figure for Z of 126 so
it would be written (and plotted) as N126W.
