Although I have just joined this list, I also have become interested in
the subject of the history of navigation. I am in the midst of the book
by Thor Heyerdahl, Early Man and the Ocean which for a book from the
late 70's has been enlightening to me.
I have read many of the expedition books and this book puts it in
context.
