Now that the storm may have subsided may I suggest, as background reading to
an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of different
projections, depending on what you are trying to represent, (and as a
variation to Bowditch, which seems to be American) "Map Projections" by
George P. Kellaway published as a University Paperback in 1970 (SBN 416
18370 0).
