Navigators,
Thanks for helping this math-deficit sailor. I've been on navigation-l for quite some time now, lurking mostly. I've learned a lot and I am especially thankful for the volunteers past & present who provide this resource out of love for the art & science.
My wife & I are off to Mexico and lat/lons beyond in our sailboat for as long as there's fun & money. An old friend procurred a beatup Davis sextant for me. (Hey it works!) Now I can practice, not theorize about the astro.
I hope to get back and download my experience back into the navigation list.
If you decide to go, look for a Tayana 37 named, "Seahorse" with a home port of Kingman, Arizona (a sailing mecca on Route 66). We'll shoot stars, bull & tequilas while watching the horizon for the Silicon Sea.
