Ed - the Chronometer is not changed (it is left at UT/ GMT) but the Clock
which is the ship's local time is advanced or retarded.

are set at the owner (of the clock)'s discretion, but the
navigators won't touch theirs.
My father was in the coast guard. The ship's main chronometer
was *never* touched except to wind it. Only when they were in
port was the chronometer re-synched to standard time.
