I use a Logitech colour sheet-fed scanner. I can "pop" it off the base and scan the chart freehand. It has motorized drive wheels that prevent the skewing that frequently happens with other handheld type scanners. However, any scanner will work. Some scanners come with software that will allow you to stitch several passes together, or you could use PhotoDeluxe or equivalent to do the same.....or simply leave each chart in whatever size chunk you can fit into your scanner and allow SeaClear to load each piece as required. The advantage to a sheetfed scanner is that while I am still limited to 8.5" wide per pass, the length is only limited by your memory and storage capabilities. A neat feature that I forgot (another responder reminded me) is that you can "adjust" the chart if it got slightly skewed in the scanning process.
    Regards.....Randy
