Grainger sells a forged steel spanner wrench that has 1/4" studs,
I've used it to pound loose tough deck fills. Its tough. I had to
modify it a bit with a propane torch to get what I wanted, but it
will take a lot of abuse. Its a standard tool. The bronze one
West Marine sells was not up to the task at all, not even close.
