Really!?! So my 18 years in the business count for nothing against your one
case. Interesting.... And I thought that I was so good.... ;-)
Seriously, I don't which company you're referring to, but isn't there at
least some possibility that the wooden boat (or the owner) you're referring
to is not sufficiently seaworthy to venture outside the Gate? Or do you
believe that your company would restrict ANY wooden hulled boat to the bay
only? If the latter is the case, you really need to see about changing
carriers.
I'm sorry I used as strong a word as "ridiculous", but that's the way it hit
me when I read your original note.
I can tell you "factually" that we insure boats for 6 major carriers for
whom we have rates and not one of them, NOT A SINGLE ONE, has anything in
their rate guide that treats wood, plastic or metal boats in any way
differently. Not one of them has different rates for different materials.
Not one of them applies a surcharge or debit for any material. Those, my
friend, are the "facts" in the industry, not just one company.
Fair winds,
Al Golden
