There is one at Riverbend Marina in Ft. Lauderdale. Built for a chap and
his wife for their retirement - the boat has her name on it. After taking
delivery she went in for a checkup and found she had cancer and died not
long after. The boat has pretty much sat since. The owner is elderly and
recently is attached to the boat for obvious reasons but also would like to
sell her because his health is not so good anymore. If you are interested I
can get you the owners name and contact number.
I have owned a CT for over a decade and can attest to their quality -
they're definitely the kind of boats that if you like traditional boats you
can really fall for. Flying Cloud is sleak and pretty and a eye catcher
whereever she is... in the Bahamas probably 10-20 people a day come and take
her picture. Maybe they envision a little pirate ship....and
romatantic-ize. She is a fabulous live-aboard.
Recently, I decided to replace this piece of stainless on the bow which the
dolphin striker attaches. After asking several owners of Taiwan boats I was
told "no problem" as there will be rotten teak behind it to remove which
will give you access to the nuts - as is the norm for Formosas and Hudsons.
No such luck, although 18 years old, no rot so it has been 8 hours so far...
of labor cutting this teak to access the nuts. ; Also pulled a chainplate
to check for problems and they are 316SS and are very okay.
Quality boats CTs are - except I understand before '81 they had deck
problems.
