Following the instructions from Garmin. I reinitialized my GPS 75 (by holding down the "0" key while pressing the PWR key, and releasing both) in less than 20 minutes it had reaquired the satellites(make sure the antenna has a clear and unobstructed view of the sky) and returned to normal operation. I did not have to use the software update from Garmin.
