Paul;
I want to commend you for your willingness to share with the list who you
had the bad experiece with. This is one of the great powers o f this list -
we have here a "virtual dock" where information from all over the world can
be shared with boaters all over the world. I have every intention of
visiting St. Augustine, and I'm far more comfortable taking care of my
transient needs there when I have real-life experiential information on
thequality of various places. I only becomes really valuable in aggregte
though, so I hope more people share their expeiences.
It's here on the list that we can create the accountability that will
restore the value of workmanship that has been eroded in our transient
society. THe net cretes the global village. No one is just passing through
anymore. By posting here both our praise and complaints we create the small
town environment that makes service folks want to provide good service to
repeat customers, because word will get out.
I frequently see requests for information on people and things and then
references to answers made off line. I hope the posters will begin sharing
more of those answers on line, because the real value I get out of this
list is from the answers, not the qestions (though they're usefull too.)
My next step, besides accumulating funds and finding the boat, is to find
surveyors in the Sn Francisco Bay and Deta area for a 40 - 50 foot M/Y or
trawler and the engines. Anyone have opinions, on or off line?
