After reading the California laws, I decided to put my numbers on both sides
of a placquard and display it from the top of the motor. When the motor is
not installed, the numbers are not necessary (it becomes a 'rowboat'), so it
is really the motor that is being fined for its existance. now when I
change inflatables, the number remains the same. So far, no unit of
organized crime - oops, I mean government - has found a good reason to
object to this.
