Gotta watch the potato cannons, at least in Texas. A friend of mine made
one for his son and was told by the local cops that it is classified in the
same category with zip guns. This was in Corpus Christi, where the local cops
occasionally have inventive ways of interpreting the law, but he ended up
having to talk to the DA, and had to sign an agreement to stop manufacturing
weapons....he was a nurse at the time, they threatened to revoke his license if
he wouldn't.
The point seemed to be the introduction of an explosive mix into the plenum
that propelled the potato....wonder if they would consider a compressed air
propelled cannon illegal?
and all this with a less than ten round magazine
