    congratulations on your transit...of course you neglected to inform us
    that you cut off 1/2 of the keel...hehehe.

    when you get to NYC area there are a couple of good anchorages around. I
    see someone else mentioned 79th street boat basin...not a bad anchorage
    but real heavy currents.

    Transient slips are also available at Liberty Landing Marina and Liberty
    Harbor marina...both are tucked away inside the Morris Canal Basin just
    to the west of the Hudson River Entrance. Both are very protected from
    wave action and currents. I have also seen boats drop the hook at the
    very back of the canal basin for a night or so.

    I just made the transit from Salisbury, MD to NYC (inside route) two
    weekends ago - took us 60 hours but we were also pressed for time. Hope
    your trip north is more lesiurely.
