I use Marine Tex to repair the high pressure side of my ac system in the car. Roughed up the surface of the hose with sand paper, applied Marine Tex, stayed cool for two years.

JB Weld works well. I used it on a hole chafed in the evaporator by the
ice cube trays while I was in Mexico. The repair lasted for 9 months. By
then, I had a new (unbent) evaporator on board and ready to install.
