    I almost feel that this is a disadvantage. The tremendous mechanical
    advantage means that you can place huge amounts of strain on the rudder that
    will cause accelerated wear to the rudder and associated mounting hardware.
    A well found boat can usually be trimmed so that the forces required to
    steer are not overwhelming. One of the things that we like about our
    somewhat unusual rig is that even in good sized seas and heavy air the helm
    is never tiring. Of course if the mizzen is mistrimmed or not reefed
    properly it lets us know by affecting the feel of the helm.
