Martin,
I have several times fixed a keyboard that got saltwater into it. I simply
took it apart, washed the parts in fresh water and dried them thoroughly.
The keyboard used membrane switches which consisted of thin sheets of plastic
printed with conducting ink, a rubber sheet with a dimple for each key, the
key buttons themselves, and one small circuit board.
Keep in mind that new keyboards can be bought for around $10. Jan has one
with hot keys on it to bring up her favorite software. She paid $50 for it
at Computer City and likes it very much.
