Must be nice to have that kind of space over the reefer...I don't. The
lift-out lid (1" wood) had NO insulation when I got the boat. I've
since added a couple of inches of styrofoam to the inside top of the
icebox and the inside of the lid, covered with -- what else -- duct
tape. It doesn't look bad and prevents the styrofoam from flaking off
when bumped.
I'm really wondering if someone hasn't come up with a system to lift
out/swing out various containers within the icebox, maybe on some kind
of track / rail system, so that in one smooth motion -- one lifting of
one handle -- you can have access to everything or at least to every
container in the system.
A market need exists -- hasn't anyone filled it yet?
