Fred,
If you spoke to Hans Bernwall you can figure that he is going to recommend a
product that he stocks. We have a friend who owned a Tayana 37 with
hydraulic steering that also had a Sayes Rig. He is a fairly experienced
offshore sailor and and did not think much of the Sayes Rig. The AutoHelm
that Denis refers to is a more traditional windvane. Personally I would
probably convert over to conventional cable steering or that Whitlock system
rather than suffer with hydraulic steering. Since we have mixed company on
this lailing list I can't make the analogy between hydraulic steering and
certain activities that involve a latex product but you get my drift.
