Hi Grandma Rosalie,
The bolt cutters needed are the type that have a double action jaw, and 2-3
ft. long handles. These things are strong!..Also hard to store. They have an
advantage in that your action of closing the handles forces a compound action
lever system to more than double the effort at the jaw over a normal single
action jaw. ONe thing is certain, unless you are Arnold Schwartzeneggar, those
nice little 12 in. tools will not even dent the wire rope. West Marine my
friend..West Marine, and about a boat unit and a half.
