May I suggest the Pacific Northwest. As I understand it, there is much more cruising available. Particularly when you take the Straits of Georgia into consideration. We have a number of friends who have moved their boats up to marinas on Vancouver Island where they get the benefit of the stronger US dollar as well as some of the best cruising in the world. Ideal for the size of boat you have.

        Hi all,

I've been living aboard & cruising on the US east coast for three years, and we're thinking of maybe changing to the left coast, for awhile. Probably either in the LA or SF areas to start. It all seems very different over there from what little I can tell from here (no liveaboard policies, surge, wait lists, hefty liveaboard fees etc...) , so any thoughts/info from those over there regarding this would be very helpful in our decision--particularily regarding 'l.b friendy' marinas & marina prices.

        Thanks,
